Aqsa Khatib is a psychologist and writer. She supports adolescents, adults and families through an approach that combines empathy, cognitive behavioural therapy, family and couples therapy, neuro-linguistic programming, trauma-informed care and psycho-oncology. Her practice is multidisciplinary: depending on each person’s needs, she draws on acceptance and commitment therapy, existential therapy, expressive arts and mindfulness. Writing allows her to share mental health resources and reach readers who may not yet be ready to begin therapy. Through her articles for VHealthy, she aims to encourage self-care, self-understanding and a more compassionate approach to life’s difficulties.
